Columbia University offers undergraduate and graduate courses related to the environment, including coursework in public health, earth and environment, law, economics, biology, and social science, taught by faculty who are academicians and practitioners.
This tool will help you to identify courses in Earth Institute affiliated programs as well as relevant electives from departments across the university. Please note that this search tool draws upon the Columbia Directory of classes and the Earth Institute cannot guarantee the accuracy and completeness of the Directory. Students should use this tool as a starting point to identify classes of interest before confirming offerings with individual departments.

Using the Form
This form allows students to browse classes from a selected list of departments related to environmental and sustainable development. You may use this guide in a variety of ways:
- Department Search: In the subject field, click on the subject (or subjects) in which you would like to take classes.
- Keyword Search: Under the keyword search, click the box next to the keywords you would like to use.
- Term Search: By selecting a specific term, you will pull up classes that are being offered ONLY during that term.
- Combination Search: You may select one or more search terms from each category. Please note: Some combinations will yield no results. Choosing multiple keywords will broaden rather than narrow the search
